Job Title : Physical Therapist Assistant Profession : Physical Therapist Assistant Specialty : Long Term Care Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Days Hours per Shift : 8 hours, M-F Experience : 1 year of PTA experience License : Active State Licensure Certifications : PTA license required Must-Have : - Long-term care or rehabilitation experience - Evidence-based practice knowledge - Ability to work under direction of a Physical Therapist Description : Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions. Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including but not limited to manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices. Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record. Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist. Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders. Effectively communicates with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans. Provides input for discharge summaries of services provided. Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system. Maintains patient records according to company policy. Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided. Participates in required meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings. Participates in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences. Works with supervising Physical Therapists to obtain necessary durable medical equipment or supplies. Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist. Adheres to APTA and state-required practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.
