Senior Technical Artist

Salary Range : $150k to $180k

About the Role

We're looking for a

Senior Technical Artist

to take ownership of asset implementation and optimization in

Unreal Engine 5 , helping us push the boundaries of performance, scalability, and visual fidelity in a large-scale or open-world game environment. This role blends art and engineering-ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and technology.

  • ? Responsibilities

Own the

implementation and optimization

of assets in Unreal Engine 5, with a focus on performance across GPU, memory, and streaming.

Drive the

end-to-end deployment

of assets into game environments, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high visual standards.

Define and enforce

technical art requirements , including UV layouts, shaders / materials, draw calls, LOD systems, and streaming budgets.

Collaborate with Level Design and World Building teams to ensure gameplay, narrative, and visuals are seamlessly aligned.

Identify and implement

optimization opportunities

in open-world or large-scale multiplayer environments.

Troubleshoot pipeline issues and craft scalable solutions balancing performance and aesthetics.

Use your

specialized skillset -ideally in

animation , but also open to 3D modeling, VFX, or SFX-to deliver high-quality technical art directly.

Integrate

procedural content generation (PCG)

pipelines to support data-driven world-building at scale.

Create and implement high-quality 3D assets (both hard surface and organic) using best practices in UE5.

  • ? Qualifications
  • 5+ years

    as a Technical Artist or Environment Artist in game development (AAA or high-quality indie).

    Expert-level experience with

    Unreal Engine 5 , including Nanite, Lumen, PCG, materials, and asset performance tuning.

    Proficient with industry-standard tools : Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Suite, Photoshop, etc.

    Solid grasp of performance profiling, LOD management, and asset streaming in large-scale environments.

    Strong understanding of

    animation pipelines

    or other technical art specialties (VFX, 3D, SFX).

    Proven ability to document workflows and collaborate cross-functionally with artists, designers, and engineers.

    A passion for

    innovative, immersive worlds

    and a drive to constantly push technical boundaries.

  • ? Bonus
  • Experience in open-world or multiplayer games

    Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Blueprint, etc.)

    Prior experience building tools or improving pipelines
