ABOUT THE CLIENT

I am currently working with a well established General Contractor & Construction Management specialist with a rich history in the Florida area.

They are currently looking for a skilled Multi-Family Construction Superintendent for a major project in the Orlando area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Site Supervision and Management : Overseeing all day-to-day construction activities from ground-breaking to project completion. This includes managing daily site operations, coordinating all phases of construction, and ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Schedule Management : Developing, maintaining, and driving the construction schedule to ensure timely delivery of the project. This involves scheduling contractors and vendors, monitoring progress, and proactively addressing any delays.
  • Quality Control : Implementing and managing quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained throughout the construction process. This often involves daily site walks and inspections.
  • Safety Enforcement : Implementing and enforcing all health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards) to maintain a safe and risk-free environment for all workers on site. This includes conducting regular safety inspections and leading safety meetings.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination : Directly supervising and coordinating the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other trades. This involves effective communication, problem-solving, and resolving any issues or conflicts that arise on-site.
  • Documentation and Reporting : Maintaining detailed daily logs of visitors, job actions, materials, and problems resolved. They also typically prepare and distribute weekly progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Budget Management (Indirect) : While not directly responsible for the overall project budget, they ensure that work is performed efficiently to stay within cost parameters and assist with material and equipment orders.
  • Liaison and Communication : Acting as the primary point of contact on-site, effectively communicating with architects, engineers, clients, local authorities (for inspections and permits), and other project stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving : Identifying and resolving problems and conflicts quickly and efficiently to keep the project moving forward.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry, specifically with a proven track record in multi-family ground-up or mid-rise projects. Experience with concrete structures and wood-frame construction is often sought after.
