Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. The Role

As the

Director of Growth Strategy & Operations

for Global Partnerships at Block, you will help shape and execute the strategy that powers our global partnerships ecosystem — including product, platform, and go-to-market partnerships. This is a senior, highly strategic role that partners directly with Block's senior GTM and Partnerships leaders to design and operationalize growth strategies that expand Block's reach, strengthen our ecosystem, and accelerate revenue through partner channels.

You will define how Block builds and scales partnership-led GTM models across diverse markets, industries, and partner types — from technology and integration partners to distribution and growth alliances. You'll lead cross-functional initiatives that align partnership strategy with Sales, Marketing, and Product priorities to ensure our ecosystem delivers measurable business impact.

This role is ideal for a strategic operator who can translate vision into execution, thrive in complex global environments, and influence at the highest levels of the organization to drive long‑term, partnership‑enabled growth.

You Will :

Define and drive the global GTM strategy for Partnerships, including product integrations, channel and distribution partnerships, and co‑selling motions.

Partner with senior leaders in Partnerships, Sales, and Marketing to align business development priorities with GTM execution and regional growth goals.

Lead initiatives that scale partnership‑led growth across new markets, verticals, and customer segments.

Strategic Partnership Enablement

Design and implement joint go‑to‑market frameworks partnering with partner marketing, sales enablement, and other GTM teams to establish scalable models.

Develop partner segmentation and prioritization frameworks that balance strategic value, revenue potential, and ecosystem alignment.

Collaborate with Product and Partnerships teams to bring new partner integrations and solutions to market with speed and impact.

Executive Partnership and GTM Alignment

Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior GTM and Partnerships leadership, providing data‑driven insights, recommendations, and business plans that guide global decision‑making.

Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Sales, Operations, and Analytics to ensure partnership strategies are embedded in global GTM planning and execution.

Influence executive stakeholders by communicating the impact of partnership programs through clear KPIs, dashboards, and ROI analysis.

Lead cross‑functional programs that drive partner activation, enablement, and joint growth outcomes across regions and business lines.

Align with regional GTM leaders to adapt partnership strategies for local market needs while maintaining global cohesion and efficiency.

Support partnership‑driven market expansion initiatives, from concept to full go‑to‑market execution.

You Have :

12+ years of experience in GTM Strategy, Partnerships Strategy, Business Development Operations, or Management Consulting, ideally within SaaS, FinTech, or platform ecosystem environments.

Proven success in building and scaling partnership‑driven go‑to‑market strategies that deliver measurable revenue growth.

Deep understanding of partner ecosystems, including technology alliances, channel / distribution partnerships, and joint selling models.

Strong analytical and strategic skills; able to synthesize complex data into clear business recommendations and influence executive decision‑making.

Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Experience driving cross‑functional global initiatives across multiple geographies and business units.

Familiarity with AI, automation, and GTM analytics tools that improve partner performance and operational efficiency.

Strategic thinker with strong executional discipline; thrives in a fast‑paced, evolving, and highly collaborative environment.

Block takes a market‑based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
