Job description

We are currently searching for a Logistics Manager to join our Orchard Brands team. Preferred location is the Atlanta, GA area or East Coast.

JOB SUMMARY

Manages the coordination, execution, tracking, and supplier relationships for a.) all Direct Import shipments and b.) US ground transportation for all domestic importer and national brands shipments.

Manages US Customs requirements for all import regulations and product duty classification.

Interfaces with the EDC management for the planning, scheduling, and tracking of all incoming receipts and any related vendor non-compliance issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Import Freight & Transportation

  • Manages with overseas teams the importation of all Direct Import shipments from port of exit to US port of entry. Manages the delivery of shipments from US port of entry to the EDC.
  • Manages the supplier relationships with the carriers, logistics providers, and the US trucking providers to ensure timely receipt of all Direct Import shipments to the EDC.
  • Trouble-shoots any shipping and transit issues. Responsible for liability claims application and resolution.

Domestic Transportation

  • Manages the ground transportation of all Domestic and National Brands shipments to ensure timely delivery to the EDC.
  • Trouble-shoots any transit issues. Responsible for liability claims application and resolution.

    • Vendor Compliance

  • In partnership with the EDC team manages the identification and processing of all vendor compliance violation claims according to the Orchard Brands vendor compliance policies.
  • Overseas the reporting on vendor compliance claims.

    • US Customs Operations & Requirements

  • Manages all communication, documentation, and record keeping for US Customs requirements, including the assignment of appropriate HTS classification.

    • Bluestem Corporate Requirements

  • In partnership with the appropriate Bluestem associates manages the annual carrier insurance, importer of record, customs bond, and other logistics related annual renewals to ensure Orchard Brand compliance

    • Supplier Relationships

  • Manages the Orchard Brand key forwarder and shipping association partnerships to maximize cost and service.
  • Manages the Orchard Brands domestic ground transportation trucking partnerships to maximize cost and service.
  • Manages the third-party provider of customs duty classification to ensure accuracy, timely response, and cost management.

    • Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Member of the Sourcing / Logistics leadership team.
  • Partners with Sourcing, Inventory Planning, EDC, off-shore office and agent staffs, and vendors to coordinate, trouble-shoot, and manage to the required receipt flow based on weekly, monthly, and seasonal plans.

    • Staff Training and Development

  • Manages the hiring, training, and development of staff of 3 associates.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    • QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree preferred, 10+ years of logistics experience in an apparel retail or manufacturing environment.
  • US Customer Broker license preferred, or extensive knowledge of US Customs regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
