Director, Health Safety Security Environmental — Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of management experience in logistics, maritime, manufacturing, or distribution
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USCG, and state / local regulations
Demonstrated ability to influence, mentor, and engage teams at all levels
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Courage to present independent perspectives and advocate for best practices
Director, Health Safety Security Environmental — Responsibilities
Partner with the Vice President of HSSE to lead company-wide safety and environmental programs, ensuring smooth leadership transition and long-term continuity
Lead injury prevention programs, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
Oversee adherence to OSHA , PCMSC , and environmental regulations (SWPPP, SPCC, AMP, TRU, hazardous waste, air quality)
Collaborate with the Facility Security Officer to manage the Facility Security Plan (FSP) and ensure compliance with U.S. Coast Guard requirements
Develop and maintain a master safety training calendar , ensuring compliance with required programs (e.g., CPRD, Hazard Awareness, EAP, Heat Illness, HazWoper)
Foster strong working relationships with leadership and functional departments to embed safety and environmental considerations in business decisions
By leading with care, collaboration, and commitment, the Director of HSSE will set the standard for operational excellence and position the organization as an industry leader in safety and sustainability.
