Labor and Delivery nursing skills, including labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, resuscitation of newborns, Pitocin management, and epidural management. Willingness to float to other facilities as needed. Description : This position involves providing care for patients during labor and delivery, as well as postpartum and newborn care. The unit is equipped with eight labor rooms, three triage rooms, one OR suite, and one PACU. The average number of patients is four to six per day. The unit adheres to appropriate staffing guidelines, with ratios of 1 : 2 during inactive labor, 1 : 1 during active labor, and 1 : 3-4 for couplets. Support is available within the department, including a charge nurse and resource nurse when available. Patients may require fetal monitoring. This role includes responsibilities for IV management with peripheral blood draws available. Travelers will be expected to work weekends on a rotating schedule and are required to work on 75% of holidays. Up to six days off can be approved, not including holidays, adding time to the contract if necessary due to schedule conflicts.
