Why This Job is Important.
As an Analytical Laboratory Technician, you will play an integral role within the Nice Pak R&D organization, providing technical testing and laboratory support for private-label and branded wet wipe projects.
You will be responsible for operating the testing equipment for nonwoven products, as well as creating and analyzing the data.
You will be part of a rapidly changing testing environment.
You will be required to participate in identifying new test methods, product properties, raw material improvements, and the development of new test equipment.
This position requires extensive and repetitive testing to help understand the properties of the current, proposed, and competitive materials and prove concepts and claims for these products.
About You.
What you can expect in this role :
Conduct stability tests and record data accurately in designated Excel files for analysis and record-keeping using the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Nice Pak's Test Methods (NPTM).Conduct and contribute to the development of new test methods; record, summarize, and report data accurately to the supervisor and project teamsDistribute weekly stability product testing calendar updates, revise the testing calendar to include completion dates of experiments, and ensure all completed experiments are accurately reflected.Maintain and conduct regular internal calibrations of laboratory equipment, including balances, pH meters, viscometers, etc., to ensure measurement accuracy and precisionLaboratory batching of prototype and final formulations (liquid formula, nonwoven) for clinical and consumer studies, testing, and customer reviewSupport Scientists and Engineers with manufacturing line trial and production scale-up activitiesSupport other analytical & product testing team members whenever possible when they are on vacation.Other related tasks assigned by the supervisorWork is performed in a laboratory environment. Incumbents must be able to use personal protective equipment (e.g., respirators, gloves, etc.)Salary range $52,000 - $55,000 / yearWhat We Expect from You in the Role.
Education : Minimum High school diploma in Science and Engineering required or 2-year associate degree in a technical / science field, BSc preferredExperience : A minimum of 0 - 1 years' work experience in a laboratory environment (Analytical Chemistry Lab preferred) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Knowledge / Skills :Computer-literate in Outlook, Word, and ExcelManage time independently, ensure proper documentation in laboratory notebook, and comply with all corporate safety and quality standardsPrior experience in a laboratory environment - R&D, QA, or QC is desirable.Relevant experience working with personal care and surface cleaning products is desirableAbility to learn / create new testing concepts in a rapidly changing environmentMust be able to understand and generate statistical data, graphs, and tablesMust have good problem-solving skills with root-cause analysisMust be able to quantify and analyze test results to create meaningful reports.Must be willing to repeat the same test procedures over and over to identify product propertiesMust be able to read and write technical documentsMust have good communication skills to explain the test results and test concepts to enable the team to draw conclusionsMust be able to lift 50 pounds of weightStrong verbal and written communication skillsTeam player and adaptable learnerAble to work in a fast-paced environmentAble to multitask and perform multiple experiments or tasks at one time, related to the same or different projectsTo embrace and embody our Core Values : Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, and Excellence.You must be a champion of Nice-Pak; we protect our people, products, and customers.We expect you always to want to learn, grow, and help others improve.
