ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE
The Fleet Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment. The role ensures that the fleet is safe, reliable, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and Repairs :
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on vehicles such as trucks, vans, RVs, and specialized equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues and recommend solutions.
Compliance and Documentation :
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.Ensure vehicles meet federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards.Prepare vehicles for inspections when required.Inventory and Tools :
Manage parts inventory, ensuring availability of required components and tools.Order replacement parts as necessary and ensure proper storage of equipment.Keep tools and work areas organized, clean, and safe.Collaboration and Communication :
Collaborate with fleet operators to identify vehicle issues and ensure timely repairs.Provide recommendations for vehicle replacements or upgrades when needed.Report major issues to the Fleet Manager and offer solutions to improve efficiency.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required.Technical certification in automotive or diesel technology preferred.2+ years of experience in fleet maintenance or a similar role required.Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or required depending on fleet type) required.Must be able to operate 40ft RV fleet vehicles and preferably hold a class C driver’s License required.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.Proficiency with diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skillsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formKnowledgeable about and experience with dental clinical workflows. Proficient in electronic dental records system.Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent planning and organizational abilityAbility to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerAbility to work under pressure and be flexible with changing site needs. Can work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds and maintain confidentiality. Able to train and manage staff in a collaborative manner.Physical Requirements

Compensation Disclosure : The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to : the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
