Job description

Patient Services Coordinator

This position reports to the Operations Manager. The Patient Services Coordinator, under supervision, provides administrative support to health care providers in a high-volume ambulatory setting, functioning as the primary interface between the patient and the providers. The emphasis is placed on the ability to organize priorities, complete tasks, manage confidential patient information, and schedule patient appointments. This person understands their position is an important part of the care team in the Patient Centered Medical Home and promotes partnership between patients, family and team.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications : Knowledge, Experience, Skills :

  • Call Center / high volume practice experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn systems, attend training classes and accept direction.
  • Acts as a cohesive team member.
  • 2 years front desk or customer service position preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients and their families, physicians and support staff both inside and outside of the institution.
  • Ability to work affectively on a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required with demonstrated ability to interact with patients and caregivers in a professional and effective manner.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems, MVH administrative practices.
  • Knowledge of Hospital systems including EPIC and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task, and comfortable in fast-paced working environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates or college course work preferred.

Experience :

  • 1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Call Center / high volume practice experience preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Record Experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced working environment.
