SUMMARY : The Part-Time Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist performs a wide variety of roles in support of the clinicians and in the provision of safe and whole person care. The Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist prepares adults and children for exams and assists adult practitioners, pediatricians, obstetricians, gynecologists, and HIV care providers in caring for patients. The Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist addresses the needs of walk-in and call-in patients in the back desk and triage areas, performs phlebotomy, tends to orderliness and stocking of exam rooms, hubs and labs, assists supervisors with specific tasks, and nurtures the spiritual growth of team members and patients. Medical Assistants / Phlebotomists are assigned to the various roles above based on the needs of Esperanza Health Center and the skill set of the individual Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist.
MAIN DUTIES (BUT NOT ALL)
Responsible for performing phlebotomy services :
a) Perform Venipuncture on adults and children :
b) Prepare Lab Specimens for Storage and Transport to Outside Lab :
c) Manage Inventory and Organization of Lab Supplies :
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
To carry out its mission, it is of critical importance for Esperanza Health Center (EHC) to keep our patients, families, and workforce safe and healthy and to support the health of our global community. In keeping with this, EHC has mandated all workforce members on-site at any EHC location for any portion of their time be vaccinated for COVID-19. This also includes contractors and EHC volunteers. This vaccine mandate is in alignment with applicable local, state, and federal mandates.
Potential employees may request exemption consideration for EHC vaccine requirements for valid religious and medical reasons. Please note that start dates will be delayed until candidates are fully immunized or valid exemption requests are reviewed and approved.
