ER RN Travel Job Details

Location : Chamberlain, SD 57325 – South Dakota nursing jobs

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026)

Healthcare Setting : Critical Access Hospital – Emergency Room & Med Surg

Shift : 12-hour rotating shifts (day / night)

Hours : 36 hours per week guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2140 - $2290 per week

Schedule : Every other weekend and holiday required

Call : 3 call shifts required during the 13-week contract

Unit Size : 25 beds

Nurse to Patient Ratio : 3-4 : 1 on Med Surg, varies by census and acuity

Dress Code : Navy scrubs (no logos); white may be worn underneath or as a lab coat

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting

At least 6 months of Emergency Room nursing experience and 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year

BLS (AHA) certification – required

ACLS (AHA) certification – required

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification – required (can be obtained onsite with approval)

TNCC certification – preferred

PALS certification – preferred

Ability to function independently in the ER and manage up to 5 patients on Med Surg

EPIC charting experience preferred (training provided)

ER RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in Emergency Room and Med Surg units

Float between ER and Med Surg as needed to support clinical operations

Conduct patient assessments, administer medications, and deliver treatments according to protocols

Operate Sanford One Charge and Pixis medication systems

Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical records

Complete required training : 1 day ER, 1 day Med Surg, and EPIC computer training

Follow facility policies, including dress code and badge-in / out procedures

Work every other weekend and holiday, and participate in required call shifts
