Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position with a KY or compact license and expertise in telemetry and dysrhythmia management.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg Telemetry unit
  • Patient population includes med / surg and telemetry cases
  • Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1 : 3-4
  • Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19 : 00-07 : 00)
  • Requires floating to different units as needed
  • EPIC EMR system is used and experience is required
  • Responsibilities include rapid response team activation, isolation precautions, and computerized documentation
  • Completion of modules required during orientation and annually, with average of two hours for modules
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Return staff must wait two years before being eligible to travel again
  • Scrub or dress code and holiday coverage will follow facility policy

  • Active KY or compact RN license in hand
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS prior to assignment)
  • Minimum two years of recent Med / Surg Tele experience required
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Experience with O2 protocol and non-invasive airway management
  • Experience with management of drips, peripheral and central line care, and blood product administration
  • References required for consideration
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
