This is a full-time, evening-shift position working Mon-Fri with a weekend rotation (every 5-6 weeks) from 3pm-11 : 30pm.

Must have attention to detail and be able to lift up to a 50-pound instrument tray. Will be cleaning / sterilizing surgical instruments after use. Sterile Processing experience highly preferred.

Job Summary :

Inspects, assembles and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair / replacement.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements :

Primary Responsibilities :

• Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
• Inspects instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and / or instrument tracking systems.
• Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
