Job description

TITLE : Logistic Warehouse II

POSTION TYPE : OPER

HIRING SPECIFICATIONS :

Required :

  • High School Diploma HiSET or GED
  • Commercial drivers license (CDL) or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
  • Driving record aligned with the Districts MVR guidelines
  • Three (3) years in warehouse operations or similar work experience
  • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack or ability and willingness to be trained
  • Ability to count accurately for receiving goods inventory purposes and completing reports
  • Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills

BASIC FUNCTION :

Receive store load unload issue and deliver food supplies and materials to schools and departments in an efficient and timely manner. Keep delivery vehicles clean; report any mechanical problems. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the Logistics department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Compile food supplies and materials requisitioned by district staff in preparation for delivery to departments and schools. May work in the freezer.
  • Load and unload food supplies and material efficiently and safely.
  • Drive delivery vehicles as needed to distribute requisitioned food supplies and materials to departments and schools in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Properly deliver to designated locations pick up and return food supplies and materials as assigned.
  • Ensure that all food supplies and materials delivered to departments and schools are checked for damage quantities verified and discrepancies are reconciled.
  • Service and maintain truck on a routine basis including fueling and washing. Complete pre-trip inspection reports and submit to supervisor.
  • Assist in receiving food supplies and materials check in items palletize and carry out receiving procedures.
  • Assist with monthly physical inventory and assist with rotating merchandise.
  • Ensure the warehouses and other areas are clean neat and orderly.
  • Cover for Warehouse III during absence as assigned.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all Logistics delivery routes.
  • Notify Warehouse Managers of schedule changes affecting accidents and breakdowns with appropriate forms and procedures.
  • Use Lockout / Tagout procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Communicate verbally and in written formats in an effective concise and tactful manner while providing exemplar customer service to all stakeholders.
  • ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for every DMPS position) :

  • Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public students and other employees.
  • Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Frequent standing walking lifting (50lbs) sitting bending / stooping reaching / pushing / pulling driving. Occasional sitting climbing / stairs carrying (50ft.) manual dexterity (telephone computer other)

    WORKING CONDITIONS : Frequent Inside outside. Occasional extremes in temperature / humidity

  • 12-month Calendar : Current full-time employee has been working for 12 months prior to the job posting date.
  • 210-dayand 230-day Calendar : Current full-time and Part-time Employee has 12 previous months of actual workdays prior to the job posting date.
  • Academic Calendar Current full-time and Part-time Employee has 12 previous months of actual workdays prior to the job posting date.
  • Exception I : Newly hired employees must be through the probationary period AND meet the Bid Criteria- Lateral / Promotion for Non-Interview Positions prior to the job Exception II : Employees in the food service department may transfer at any time without an adjusted probationary period.
  • Exception III : PT bus associates may transfer to a PT bus driver position at any time
  • without an adjusted probationary period.
  • Exception IV : PT bus drivers hired prior to September 30 are eligible for a FT driver position the following school year.

  • Attendance - sick leave standard is as follows :
  • Employees must have ten (10) days or less of family / personal sick leave or no leave hourly time used. Scheduled hours in the timekeeping system will be utilized.
  • Sick leave will be calculated based on the 12 previous months of actual workdays from the posting date for all employees.
  • All authorized Unpaid Leave of Absences (not FMLA approved) will not be taken off the record for this purpose of the bid process.
  • All authorized FMLA leave (paid or unpaid) will be taken off the record for this purpose of the bid process.
  • All authorized Workers Comp (paid or unpaid) will be taken off the record for this purpose of the bid process.

  • All employees must not have any no call / no show incidents the 12 previous months of actual workdays from the posting
  • All employees must not have any unauthorized time off during the 12 previous months of actual workdays from the posting date.
  • All employees must be in an active paid status at the beginning of the posting.

  • Evaluation : composite score of meets or better on the most recent evaluation
  • All staff must have one evaluation on file.
