The Mortgage Assistance Specialist will be responsible for assisting clients who are experiencing either short term or long term hardships with their Mortgage in an effort to avoid the completion of Foreclosure, in accordance with all Federal, State and local regulations and Atlantic Union Banks' policy and procedures. They will be directly assigned to a number of clients who are delinquent or at high risk for delinquency and will be tasked with collecting and underwriting documents to policy. They will be the single point of contact between Atlantic Union Bank and the borrower. This position will be expected to work well with limited supervision.
Position Accountabilities
Develops comprehensive knowledge of the Mortgage Assistance Center processes and procedures to recommend solutions to maintain home ownership.Reviews the borrowers' financial situation and, if modification options are not possible, discusses liquidation options.Compiles a complete file and underwrites to Policy. Candidate must be able to analyze housing credit and income information, identify and recommend options for borrowers and notify borrowers of decisionReview mortgage collateral documentation for accuracyEnsure compliance to federal, state, and bank regulation requirementsEnsure that all audit and compliance policies are metAdhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing bank operations, including compliance with Atlantic Union's Policy and Procedures.Prepares and sends legal documentation to borrowers.Meets performance standards and goals established by the bank.Organizational Relationship
