FLSA Status : Hourly Non-exempt position

Reports to : Regional Superintendent

Job Purpose :   Perform pipe or plate welding projects in the field.

Job Duties :

• Install and verify operation of pipe and fittings
• Repair and / or replace any damaged pipe or steel
• Fabricate and install fittings as needed
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications
• Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders
• Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints
• Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading
• Other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications :   High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience required.  Field experience and knowledge of pipeline construction.  At least two years welding experience or equivalent schooling.  Attention to detail, initiative, and reliability.

work with others in a group or team. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Hours :    Work hours are generally a regular work week of 40 hours; however, exact hours to work each day may vary as required.
