Job Title : Certified Medical Assistant Scribe

Position Overview :

The Certified Medical Assistant Scribe assists physicians by handling documentation and clerical tasks during patient visits. By directly observing patient interactions, the scribe records accurate information in the medical record, allowing the physician to focus more on patient care. The scribe also helps with ordering tests, medications, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Key Responsibilities :

Documentation & Clerical Support :

• Greet patients and visitors professionally, answering phone calls and relaying messages.
• Gather patient information to update records accurately.
• Compile and organize medical history, previous records, and test results.
• Document patient encounters in real-time, including histories, exams, and physician orders.
• Transcribe orders for tests, medications, and procedures accurately in the system.
• Enter diagnoses and procedure codes as dictated by the physician.

High school diploma (preferred).

Skills & Competencies :

Proficient in basic medical procedures like EKGs and lab tests.

Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and visitors.

Attention to detail and the ability to manage patient records efficiently.

Working Conditions :

Primarily in a medical office setting.

Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
