What you will be doing :
Serves as the customer service liaison between GEODIS and the customerSelect appropriate carrier and routing based on shipment characteristics or customer requirementsProcesses all documents and information requests received from GEODISOpens files, enters notes, information and document requests in Cargowise systemSends information / document requests to company's employees, suppliers, service providers or overseas production offices as neededCommunicates with specified offices, departments, and teams on all issues in addition to customers, carriers, and vendorsFiles document requests, correspondence and documents in a file folder identified by the applicable shipping numberCoordinates shipping details with overseas agentConvert and verify shipment weight and volumeCalculate rates and price conversions; profit and loss analysisAssist customers with question complaints, requests, tracking and tracingCompletes invoicing requirements accurately and within Company DETI time requirementsEnsure all shipment data elements are entered accurately and timely within company IRIS requirements maintaining a minimum 95% accuracy levelArrange bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, and / or trucking companies, review documentation, issue documents to meet government regulations and carrier regulationsInstruct warehouse staff to properly build and deliver against pick lists manifest to gain profitabilityEnsure email and telephone calls are promptly and politely answeredRequirements :
Intermediate proficiency in AS400 and CargowiseMinimum 3 years' experience in custom brokerage, importation or exportation of goods or an equivalent combination of both education and experienceMust have a familiarity with potential client systems including ERP systems, TMS and WMS applications and other software solutions common in the logistics industryIntermediate efficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and ExcelExcellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customersAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
