Medical Scribe
Hours : 32 hours per week- Tuesday-Friday 8a-5p (Monday as needed)
Location : Employee will work between the 3 work locations

Pay rate : $20 per hour
Responsibilities
- Work with the ortho surgeons, pre-charting and pulling medical records, and working with the surgeon to take notes during dictations.
- Accompany clinician into patient exam areas for the purpose of accurately documenting the clinician's encounter with the patient as described by the clinician.
- Seek real-time clarification of all information entered into the medical record.
- List diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as mentioned by the clinician.
- Enter orders, including diagnostic testing and medications which are pended and require clinician approval to activate.
- Document procedures performed and described by the clinician. Invoke the organizations approved scribe statement for each clinical note.
- Complete all scribe duties before leaving the patient care area.
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.
- Participate in clinical research activity at the direction of the clinician.
- Perform literature searches and data bases searches to gain data required for projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Human Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology, Nursing, or related disciplineSix months experience as a medical scribe, medical transcriptionist, or other related job in a medical officeEPIC knowledge / experienceJohns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
