Position Summary : :

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a dedicated and student-focused High School Equivalency (HSE) and Reading Literacy Instructor to teach adult learners at Piedmont Correctional Institute. The instructor will deliver instruction in reading, writing, social studies, science, and mathematics aligned with HSE / GED standards, while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for justice-involved students.

Required Education / Experience : :

• Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt instruction for adult learners with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
• Commitment to the mission of correctional and adult education.

This position is located inside a correctional facility, and instructors must be able to adapt to the unique requirements of teaching in a secure environment. Class Schedules, access and resources are subject to the institutional rules and procedures, which may differ significantly from traditional academic settings. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to adjust to changing circumstances are essential for success in this role.
