Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist

Ingenium Talent is working with a southern Indiana manufacturing organization in their search for a fulltime EDI Specialist. This role is responsible for taking ownership of managing and optimizing our client's electronic data interchange (EDI) processes. Qualified candidates will have the proven ability to ensure smooth data transactions, solve technical issues, and lead key EDI initiatives that support our client's growing network of partners.

This position is onsite at the client's southern Indiana location and requires candidates to be based in the area. There is no hybrid or remote opportunity for this role at this time.

Responsibilities include :

• Monitor and maintain daily EDI transactions (invoices, purchase orders, ASNs, etc.).
• Act as Level 1 support for EDI-related issues, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
• Lead EDI projects : onboard new trading partners, implement mapping changes, and support system improvements.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to submit and validate MAP change requests.
• Collaborate with mapping vendors and trading partners to implement updates and conduct testing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EDI standards (e.g., X12 3010–6010).
• Manage and update trading partner data, EDI portals, and conversion tables.
• Handle FTP transmissions and monitor EDI supplier portals for reconciliation.

Experience and qualifications include :

• 2+ years of experience working with EDI systems (or equivalent education / experience).
• Deep understanding of EDI standards and mapping in retail or wholesale environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues independently.
• Experience with SAP , especially SAP S / 4HANA Private Cloud , is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills.
• Comfortable working with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
