What you'll do
- Lead and assist animal care staff of approximately 20, providing daily cleaning, feeding and observation of animals
- Provide training and guidance to ensure effective and compassionate care
- Coordinate animal care daily task assignment and maintain efficient workflow
- Address and resolve complaints related to animal care operation
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of facilities and grounds when it affects animal care operations
- Prepare reports and share insights with leadership to enhance operations
- Collaborate with staff in meetings to improve processes and share innovative ideas
What we're looking for
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year lead/supervisory experience (shelter/animal environment preferred)
- 1+ year professional animal handling experience
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Available to work at least one weekend day as part of your regular schedule and some holidays
