Hilltop Family Practice is located at 85 Main Street, Somersworth, NH 03878. As a Family Medicine office, we provide outstanding primary care and preventative health care to patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors.

Our clinical staff support two providers and an average visit volume of 35 patients per day in our practice. Teamwork is the foundation for successful day-to-day operations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite. The operating hours of the practice are Monday-Friday 7 : 00am to 5 : 30pm, so schedules are staggered accordingly.

The Medical Assistant will not be assigned to a specific provider but will assist with a variety of clinical needs across the practice. Responsibilities include supporting overflow, managing in-basket work, assisting with nurse visits, performing point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, and patient rooming.

This role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.

Essential Functions

• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. Acts as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer service approach.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferred

Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Experience

Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred
