SCOPE OF POSITION :
Assist the Program Manager as needed. Provide temporary shelter, care, compassion, meals, and supervision for up to six Washington State Foster Care youth (12-17 years) and emerging adults (18-20 years) in emergency placement situations for a maximum of 60 days while awaiting placement.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of similar, full-time experience working with vulnerable populations
- An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of similar, full-time experience working with vulnerable populations
- Or three (3) years of similar, full-time experience working with vulnerable populations
- One or more years of supervisory experience required

Assist with preparing and conducting monthly staff meetings and trainingsAttend and participate in department meetingsParticipate in recruitment of program staffAbility to manage employees and youth successfully within the program's structureBe able to communicate effectively with professional agencies and administrationCompile Evangeline's House monthly statistics, as directedWith direction from Program Manager, oversee and direct staffAssist in development / revisions of the program and practices with oversight of Program ManagerServe as agency's public awareness representative along with Program ManagerPrepare and present disciplinary actions when neededFill in for staff when necessary; provide relief for staff breaksOversee staff schedules, timesheet procedures and breaksKeep Background Check LogKeep track of and maintain records of training and certificates for staffEnsure all required and appropriate paperwork is filedContribute to positive morale in the programDevelop positive, professional relationships with coworkersSupport new employees / volunteers by explaining the program and policies and proceduresFollow and ensure compliance with all Child Safety policies and proceduresEnsure HIPPA, WAC guidelines, contract, licensing and local policy and procedures complianceModel appropriate social and interpersonal behaviors for youthComply with youth disciplinary guidelinesProperly implement behavior management (de-escalation and restraint)Assist in planning activities and participating when necessaryManage youth transportation needs, HEART Program, school bus schedule and off-site needsAccompany youth to school and appointments as needed (driving, riding or walking)Ensure the safety of all children in careAdminister medications to youth and document dailyComplete intake and discharge paperwork, when neededCommunicate (and document) with caseworkers and other agencies regarding youth in careEnsure repair and supply requests are communicated as requiredConduct and / or oversee monthly fire drills; report written results to the Program ManagerMaintain facility security by ensuring windows and doors are locked; report any security concernsClean the facility and do laundry when neededAssist with snow removal when necessaryWork different shifts on occasionAll other duties as assignedPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
