Overview :
The Filler Operator is an important part of our production floor. The Operator runs and maintains fillers in a continuous flow vat to process milk, cream, and other dairy products, following specific methods and formulas. As a Filler Operator, you will be responsible for quality, food safety and product specifications.
Responsibilities :
- Clean, set-up, operate and monitor filler equipment
- Complete all required quality checks and documentation
- Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing
- Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product
- Make adjustments to filler timing and filling; check vat as needed
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
- Perform filler equipment and filler line changeovers for next run safely
- Working knowledge with wrapper operations; watch for jams and effectively thread product wrap
- Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run
- Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies
- Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced
- Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED; or one to two years related experience and / or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience analyzing and troubleshooting process data and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughputBasic math competency required to perform calculationsOvertime and working on holidays is often requiredExperience within the food and beverage industry preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift. Occasionally required to climb or balance. Frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move more than 75 poundsMust be able to work in a wet environmentOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicalsExposure to nut allergens
