Job Summary

Support the corporate strategy to remain the global leader in prestige beauty by ensuring that brand packaging reflects the company’s core values of quality, creativity, and innovation . The Global Package Development Director collaborates directly with formulators, chemists, and scientists to create innovative packaging and delivery systems. This position serves as the brand steward for packaging across assigned business segments, ensuring that all components meet design, functionality, and cost objectives within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Stewardship

Represent the culture and DNA of each managed brand by ensuring packaging reflects its identity and values.

Recognize that the first consumer experience is the package , maintaining excellence in both function and aesthetic.

Package Concept & Feasibility

Drive innovation by introducing new packaging concepts, technologies, and delivery systems.

Explore emerging technologies both within and outside the beauty industry to inspire new product development.

Evaluate feasibility for each packaging concept, including function, manufacturability, cost, tooling, lead time, and risk .

Project Management

Manage all aspects of package development to support the Strategic Management Initiative .

Oversee feasibility studies, technical profiles, cost specifications, supplier recommendations, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) .

Define tooling strategies that balance forecast accuracy with production efficiency.

Partner with Technical Packaging, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with engineering, design, and regulatory standards .

Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to validate packaging performance.

Ensure packaging meets brand expectations for quality, cost, functionality, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance .

Timeline Management

Develop and monitor detailed component timelines to ensure timely availability.

Communicate risks and delays proactively to Global Brand Value Chain (GBVC) and Global Supplier Relations (GSR) .

Prioritize workload and manage concurrent projects within established deadlines.

Leadership & Collaboration

Lead direct reports and cross-functional partners, providing the tools and guidance needed for project success.

Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Product Development, Design, and Supply Chain teams to align objectives.

Support Package Operations to manage outlines and process artwork accurately.

Foster relationships across the organization to promote innovation and efficiency.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or Engineering .

Minimum 7 years of cosmetic package development experience , preferably in the prestige beauty industry .

Proven development experience across color cosmetics, fragrance, and skincare categories.

Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) , MS Office, and timeline management systems.

Nice-to-Have Experience

Experience leading cross-functional packaging programs at the global enterprise level.

Prior exposure to sustainable packaging initiatives and recyclable material innovation.

Vendor management experience within a multi-brand corporate structure.
