Palm Desert, CA law firm is seeking an experienced full-time Estate Planning / Tax Attorney

A boutique law firm specializing in tax planning, estate planning, trust and estate administrations, and business law is seeking a business-savvy Associate Attorney with strong tax expertise to join its team. This role is ideal for an attorney with an entrepreneurial mindset who is interested in building a practice and potentially taking on greater leadership responsibilities over time.

Qualifications :

Juris Doctor (JD) and active CA license to practice law.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in estate planning, taxation, or trust administration (flexibility for candidates with advanced tax credentials).

Strong working knowledge of IRC Subchapters J and K.

LLM in Taxation, CPA license, or prior experience at a tax-focused law firm preferred.

Candidates without a tax LLM should have completed courses in personal income tax, corporate tax, partnership tax, and estate & gift tax.

Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.

Strong interpersonal and client-relationship skills.

Entrepreneurial drive with an interest in taking on greater responsibility and helping grow the practice.

Key Responsibilities :

Handle a variety of estate planning matters, including drafting wills, trusts, and related documents.

Advise clients on complex tax planning strategies and compliance issues.

Manage post-death trust and estate administration matters.

Apply in-depth knowledge of Subchapters J and K of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) to client matters.

Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and prepare filings related to tax and estate planning.

Work closely with clients on business succession planning, entity structuring, and related tax considerations.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative solutions for clients with sophisticated tax and estate needs.

Location : Palm Desert, CA, 92211

Position : On-site; will consider remote for the right candidate

Salary : Starts at 120k; 150k after 90 days (Salary is negotiable)
