Job Summary

We are seeking a Special Needs Caregiver role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, all aimed at providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This position requires a compassionate approach and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those under their care. By fostering an environment of safety, understanding, and encouragement, caregivers help improve the quality of life for their clients. Their efforts are tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and, in some cases, educational needs of the individuals they support. Through personalized care plans, they not only assist with daily living activities but also promote independence and self-confidence in those they serve. This role is about more than just meeting basic needs; its about enriching lives and offering a steady hand to hold along the journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, tailored to the individual needs of clients with special needs.
• Implement behavior modification plans or therapeutic interventions as designed by healthcare professionals to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
• Facilitate c ommunication and social interaction, utilizing adaptive technologies or communication boards as necessary, to enhance the clients ability to express needs and engage with others.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals that cater to specific dietary requirements, allergies, or preferences of the client, ensuring balanced nutrition.
• Organize and participate in recreational activities and outings that are suitable for the clients abilities and interests, promoting physical activity and social interaction.
• Perform light housekeeping duties related to the clients care, such as cleaning areas used by the client, doing laundry, and maintaining an organized living environment.
• Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises, providing support and encouragement, to maintain or improve the clients range of motion and physical condition.
• Assist with personal hygiene needs and dressing
• Incontinence Care
• Provide companionship
• Assist with errands and shopping

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
• First aid and CPR-certified
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
• Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
• Ability to lift heaving objects
• Compassionate, respectful, ethical
