Job Description
Build precision tools that power flight
Smith Brothers Tool Company, founded in 1981, delivers tooling and fabrication solutions for Aerospace, Defense, and Automotive leaders. As a premier machining, weld fabrication, and tooling shop, we design, engineer, build, and certify in-house—covering assembly tools, lay-up tools, large and small checking tools, mill fixtures, and more. Our customers include Boeing, Bell Helicopter, GE Aviation, and Honda Aircraft Company.
A day in this role
Morning starts with a blueprint review and a quick huddle. You’ll stage materials—steel, aluminum, and Invar—then prep, fit, and weld components using various welding processes. You’ll grind and finish to spec, verify critical dimensions with a tape measure and other measurement tools, and collaborate with engineering to ensure every feature aligns with geometric tolerances. Throughout the day, you’ll move between setups, tackle additional assigned tasks, and keep work flowing to meet deadlines that matter to our customers.
