Description :

The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for managing and maintaining patient health records in compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

This role ensures the accuracy, accessibility, and security of patient health information and supports the healthcare team by providing timely access to medical records.

Responsibilities :

  • Organize, manage, and maintain patient health records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Accurately enter patient information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ensure all records are maintained in accordance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage access to medical records, ensuring only authorized personnel can view or modify
  • records.
  • Regularly audit records for accuracy and completeness and correct any discrepancies.
  • Assist healthcare providers and staff with accessing and interpreting patient records.
  • Provide training to staff on proper documentation and record-keeping procedures.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless information flow and resolve any issues related
  • to medical records.
  • Always maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Comply with local, state and federal confidentiality laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with professionals both within and outside the agency, as appropriate
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences
  • Abide by Pax Health code of ethics and model values
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in health information management, Medical Records Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical records management or a related role.
  • Proficiency in ERR systems and medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws.
