Job description

Warehouse Associate [Freezer]

Hours : 8am - 5pm Location : Houston, TX 77073 Pay Rate : $18 - $19 DOE

Responsibilities :

  • Picks and assembles orders as indicated on the pick list in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner
  • Works with receiving to unload freezer items from delivery trucks in a timely manner
  • Inspects received products for damage and volume accuracy and documents accordingly
  • Accurately stocks inventory in the assigned warehouse location and rotates product inventory to maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) food storage system
  • Participates in warehouse upkeep and ensures the freezer is clean and organized
  • Participates in the weekly warehouse meetings
  • Attends semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend
  • Provides logistics support for company events and functions outside of normal working hours
  • Other duties as required from manager
  • Obligation to answer to all management as requested

Qualifications :

  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Possesses basic mathematical knowledge such as counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.
  • Has strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates awareness of proper warehouse safety procedures
  • Ability to operate both sit-down and reach truck forklift required; certified in both preferred
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors preferred

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Able to work without sitting for extended periods of time, including standing and walking
  • Able to talk, hear, climb, balance, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Able to handle and move up to 165 pounds assisted frequently
  • Specific vision abilities are required, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and maintain clarity.

    • Other Requirements :

  • Conversational level English required; business level English preferred
  • Able to work weekends, holidays, afterhours, and 2nd shift as needed
  • Has and maintains a clean driving record
  • Maintains a positive attitude
  • Works efficiently independently and in a team
  • Adapts to frequent changes in assignments and workload
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of freezer (temperature under -10F) experience required

    • Working Conditions :

  • Noise level : loud while indoors
  • Required to wear company provided insulated freezer suit while in freezer
  • Freezing temperatures between -10 and -20 degrees Fahrenheit

    • Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $18.00 - $19.00
