Position Summary :
GTI is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Entry-Level EH&S Specialist to support and promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role will assist in monitoring and enforcing health and safety programs, maintaining regulatory documentation, and supporting plant-wide EH&S initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct routine safety walkthroughs and audits on the production floor
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis for workplace injuries or near misses
- Assist with safety training programs (e.g., PPE, lockout / tagout, hazard communication)
- Help maintain safety data sheets (SDS), safety reports, and training logs
- Monitor and assist with hazardous waste storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with EPA and ADEQ guidelines
- Participate in and support safety committees and team meetings
- Assist in preparing for OSHA inspections and other regulatory audits
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
- Maintain inventory of safety equipment and supplies
- Track safety metrics and assist in developing continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and proactive communication
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or hands-on exposure a plus)Strong communication and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and ADEQ regulations preferredBilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus but not requiredMust be able to walk the production floor regularly and wear appropriate PPEWorking Conditions :
Manufacturing environment (exposure to machinery, noise, temperature changes
May require occasional evening or weekend work for audits or safety incidents
Monday-Thursday 5am-3 : 30pm
or
Friday-Sunday 5am-5 : 30pm
