Manager, Customer Quality

Summary : The Manager, Customer Quality has the responsibility and authority for ensuring that the quality management system conforms to AS9100 and all customer specific supplier quality system requirements. They also establish, implement and monitor metrics to measure AIT's quality performance to its customers.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Ensure that processes are delivering their intended outputs.
  • Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system and on opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes are planned and implemented.
  • Responsible for being the liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality management system.
  • Supervise, lead, train, and assist the Lead Inspections to achieve customer satisfaction goals.
  • Assign Lead Inspectors to specific jobs and assure workloads are appropriate.
  • Assure Customer Satisfaction, communicate with customers with any questions or concerns regarding requirements or for any deviation issues or approvals needed.
  • Accepts in-process and finished products on the basis that all specifications and contractual requirements have been met and inform the customer and quality assurance representative that the item is ready for review and acceptance.
  • Writes Quality plans and Tool Inspection Reports to assure achievement of product realization.
  • Reviews in-process inspection and final inspection of sub-assemblies, and tooling during manufacturing and final assembly.
  • Review results of the inspection of all incoming parts and materials, which are used on end item products (tooling) as required by contract and SOW.
  • Liaison contact with customer quality representative and submits all required inspection documents for customer buyoff and approval to ship.
  • Ensures that such details and assemblies are shipped in a manner conforming to customer and or contractual requirements.
  • Willing to travel to customer facilities to provide tool install support and quality assurance.
  • Participates in manufacture planning initiatives, management meetings and status reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience :

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience with AS9100 Quality Management Systems Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations and auditing.
  • Minimum levels :
  • Level 2D level 3 MBD 3D Model
  • Level 4 QMS systems
  • Level 4 RCCA
  • Level 4 APQP
  • Minimum of five years of quality related experience and / or training
  • Minimum of two years in Aerospace manufacturing / tooling
  • Work Authorization / Security Clearance Requirements :

  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  • Identifies problems and review relevant information to develop options, then implement the solutions.
  • Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers.
  • Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Work Conditions : Environment Type :

  • Indoors. Production and office environment. Temperature controlled, unless products and / or equipment is located outdoors.

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
