VP Risk Governance, Global Markets
Location : New York, NY
Compensation : 160-210k base
A leading Investment Bank in NYC is looking to grow out its Risk Governance team by bringing on a Vice President covering Global Markets. Ideal candidates have 6+ experience in Risk or Compliance, ideally within the banking industry, and are well versed in the Volcker rule. In this role, you would be responsible for leading a team tasked with supporting the governance of the Volcker Program across global operations, helping to shape and maintain a strong risk culture.
Responsibilities :
- Lead efforts to strengthen Global Markets governance, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business units, risk, compliance, finance, and technology to enhance program controls, procedures, and monitoring frameworks.
- Develop and maintain project plans and trackers to support program initiatives and communicate progress to senior stakeholders.
- Support the business in preparing for regulatory exams, audits, and internal reviews.
- Promote a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, and proactive risk management.
- Identify and assess emerging risks, and work with partners to implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in governance practices.
- Build strong relationships across the organization to influence change and foster collaboration.
Requirements :
6+ years of experience in Risk, Compliance, or another related function within the financial services industryFamiliarity with the Volcker Rule and its implications for trading businesses.Solid understanding of global markets and financial products.Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong people management skills
