Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring MA licensure and expertise in neuro, ortho trauma, and kidney transplant surgeries.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the OR West unit within a hospital setting focused on inpatient Level I Trauma Surgery
  • 10 operating rooms handling diverse surgical procedures including bariatric, neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic trauma, spine, major plastic reconstruction, robotic surgery, and kidney and liver transplants
  • Day shift, 10-hour shifts from 7 : 00 am to 5 : 30 pm, 40 hours per week
  • Up to 2 weekends per month required which may include shifts or call (7a-7p or 7p-7a on Sat / Sun / holidays)
  • 30-minute on-call response time required
  • Short call shift once a week (either 3 : 00 am–7 : 00 am or 5 : 00 pm–9 : 00 pm)
  • May float to East or CVI OR units
  • Eligible to work any holidays while on contract
  • Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating on a wide variety of complex surgical procedures
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team with a focus on Level I Trauma
  • Weekly orientation available every Monday, except on holidays
  • RTO (requested time off) must be approved in advance
  • Holiday and weekend staffing is required as part of the schedule
  • Parking availability is limited and may cost up to $43 per day

    • Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Experience in neuro, orthopedic trauma, and kidney transplant surgeries required
  • Ability to scrub and / or circulate general surgery, robotics, transplants, ortho, neuro, spine, ENT (primarily head & neck), GYN, urology, organ procurement, and trauma cases
  • Level I trauma OR experience preferred
  • COVID vaccine and booster, and flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed)
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local candidates)
  • Must not have worked at the health system in any capacity within the last 6 months
