Job Summary
This role involves performing Computed Tomography (CT) scans to generate cross-sectional images for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Schedule : 10-hour day shifts with varied timings
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Licenses / Certifications :
Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required; and
Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or
Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in computed tomography or
One of the following along with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams :
Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or
Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or
Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Minimum of one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years of experience as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience, preferred.
Ability to lift and / or maneuver patients with assistance to perform job functions.
Principal Accountabilities
Perform CT scans on patients : Prepare patients for CT scan, explain procedures, administer contrast as needed, position patients correctly, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of the scan.
Enter and monitor patient data for accuracy.
Conduct quality assurance on CT equipment and assist with applications for ACR and other accreditation.
Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
Be available for emergency calls within the department. May be required to work weekends or float to other locations as needed.
Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; comply with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards while managing time, supplies, productivity, and service quality.
Promote professional growth and development by fulfilling requirements for continuing education and skills competency; support department goals contributing to organizational success; serve as a preceptor and mentor to less experienced staff.
