Parks Worker I Temporary, Part-Time

This is a Temporary, Part-time opportunity with the Parks & Recreation Department within the Parks Division. The length of this temporary assignment will vary and the hours will not exceed 19 hours per week. First review of applications on October 12, 2025. Our Parks & Recreation department is looking for a Parks Worker I who will perform clean-up of public parks, splash pads, playground equipment, sports fields, and courts; minor landscape maintenance; repairs on equipment, sprinklers, and turf maintenance. The ideal candidate will be a self-starting, motivated individual with great communication skills that thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will also have previous custodial and landscape experience in addition to the availability to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will become part of a collaborative team that places a high value on safety and maximizes LEAN process efficiencies. Essential Functions

• Formal Education / Knowledge : Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge is equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
• Experience : No experience required.
• Certifications and Other Requirements : Valid Driver's License
• Reading : Work requires the ability to read irrigation manuals, training guides, standard operating procedures and MSDS manuals.
• Math : Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Writing : This position requires the ability to complete work orders and general correspondence.
• Managerial : Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others but may provide advice / direction to an employee with less experience / skill or tenure.
• Policy / Decision Making : Moderate - The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may, at times, provide close and constant review.
• Technical Skills : Limited Application - Work requires the use of standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment of the organization. Limited analysis and independent thinking is utilized.
• Interpersonal / Human Relations Skills : Moderate - Work requires regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of information. The purpose of interactions is primarily the sharing of information.
