Description : Overall Expectation
Ventura Manufacturing is seeking a Technical Buyer who is energized by solving problems and executing with excellence. This tactical role leads day-to-day purchasing activities for New Product Introductions (NPI) and cost-out / VAVE initiatives, ensuring competitive pricing, supplier capability, and alignment with engineering requirements. The right candidate brings strong technical aptitude, proactive follow-through, and collaborative communication across Engineering, Business Development, and Operations.
Highlighted Expectations
- Execute sourcing and purchasing activities for NPI and cost-out / VAVE projects in a hands-on, tactical capacity.
- Translate engineering requirements; interpret drawings and specifications to ensure supplier alignment.
- Issue RFQs, analyze quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and recommend awards.
- Create and manage POs, track deliveries, and expedite as needed to meet project timelines.
- Partner with Engineering, Business Development, Operations, and other functional areas to resolve supplier issues and support PPAP / APQP deliverables.
- Identify near-term cost and process improvement opportunities ( PPV , lead time, MOQ) and drive actions to closure.

Requirements :
3–7 years in purchasing, sourcing, or related fields.Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 ; involvement in PPAP / APQP for launches.Ability to read engineering drawings, including GD&T , tolerances, and material specifications.Experience supporting change control during ECO processes; ability to develop sourcing options for challenging components.Experience with ERP / MRP systems (e.g., IQMS or similar).Solid cost management understanding ( PPV ), should-cost basics, and vendor network development.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business —or equivalent experience.Familiarity with contracting basics ( Ts&Cs, NDAs, price adjustment clauses ).Strong negotiation, technical communication, and supplier capability assessment skills.Project coordination skills to hit timing and cost targets on NPI projects; occasional supplier visits.Cultural alignment with humility, teamwork, and open-book management principles.Nice to Have
Experience in automotive or appliance industries.Exposure to import / export regulations and tariff navigation.Commodity insight across metals, plastics, and electronics.Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP , or similar; strong Excel / analytics skills.
