• Work night shifts in a 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available (block scheduling cannot be accommodated)
• Maintain 2 : 1 patient ratio during all shifts
• Every other weekend required, must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Christmas RTO (12 / 24-12 / 25) cannot be approved
• Maximum 40 hours time off allowed per 13-week contract
• 24 hours of orientation required
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous charge experience and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Virginia license required (can submit with pending license but must have in-hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Nursys verification required for submittal
• Care for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement / repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
• Manage patients with conditions including CAD, MI, valvular disease, end-stage heart failure, aortic aneurysm, lung cancer, and esophageal cancer
• Perform specialized procedures including ECMO, IABP, arterial line management, ventilator management, and post-cardiac surgery care
• Work with specialized equipment including CRRT, PA catheters, chest tubes, epicardial wires / pacing, and ventilators Facility : This academic medical center operates a comprehensive 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU that provides advanced care for patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures.
