ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Henderson, Kentucky.

Opportunity : RN - Med Surg

Job Details :

  • Work 12-hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • 13-week contract length starting December 15th with bi-weekly orientation
  • Patient ratio of 1 : 4-5 on days
  • Every third weekend and every other holiday required
  • Float requirement as first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles) and potential to Deaconess Midtown (11 miles) with 2-hour notice
  • Mid-shift float within same campus possible; cross-campus mid-shift float unlikely but possible
  • Required certifications : Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of strong Med / Surg experience and 1 travel assignment required
  • Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
  • Care for general medical / surgical patients including gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, hip / knee replacements / ORIFs, COVID, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD, sepsis, UTI, and respiratory conditions
  • Required skills : PIV insertion, chest tube / indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEGs / NGs, ostomy care, remote telemetry, blood product administration, NIHSS / dysphagia screening
  • Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health systems or agency logos
  • Teaching hospital environment may require precepting of students and new hires
  • 3 call-ins can result in termination
  • Associate degree or certificate required
