Primary Purpose : Sr. Network Cloud Solution Engineers possess the experience and skills to serve and support in a lead role as a SME of Cloud Network Solutions. Create the design and lead the implementation of high priority network initiatives and projects in both cloud and hybrid-cloud models. Provide advanced expertise, support strategic planning, and serve as an advisor for network infrastructure and connectivity solutions to enable applications and data workloads to a hybrid-cloud based model. Work in collaboration with leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project teams. Develop documentation and tools to enable support organizations to resolve technical issues, including complex hybrid cloud network architecture, design, and service-related issues. Provide technical leadership to project managers and stakeholders about migrating and transitioning applications to hybrid-cloud based services and operating and maintaining applications once migrated. Design repeatable Cloud computing and hosting solutions in areas like : Disaster Recovery, Web Hosting, and Development / QA Environments; and handle special projects or initiatives when required. Serve as a subject-matter expert for technical network knowledge, guidance, and mentoring for high visibility network solutions, implementations, and migration initiatives for the enterprise & real-time networks (on-prem & cloud). Provide high value through deep network engagement, requirements, design, implementation, integration, performance, optimization, and support of Cloud technology and on-prem solutions that align with business and overall infrastructure enhancement needs / requirements. Serve as a SME in development of metrics and implementation of same. The individual must have a thorough understanding and strong demonstration of network infrastructure design, data center trends, technologies and how they strategically intersect with business requirements and mesh with the enterprise journey into Cloud-Smart technologies. Provide technical expertise during high visibility network (cloud & on-prem) migration initiatives and technical guidance / mentoring others. At times they will be required to work in a autonomous manner. Note : This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Must reside & sit within Oak Brook Terrace, IL or Kennett Square & Plymouth Meeting, PA areas. Primary Duties : Work closely with leadership to develop future plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules. Develop presentations for Engineering and Architecture Review Boards. Participate in potential refactoring, rebuild, or redesign required during Cloud or on-prem migrations. Create requirements document, SOW, logical & physical network diagrams, and implementation plans to integrate in customers' environments. (30%) Translate standardization of network (cloud & on-prem) product & service evaluation, testing, lab and mockup solutions as needed. Serve as a subject matter expert in the Hybrid Cloud enterprise & OT network journey encompassing ongoing architecture, design, planning, configuration, implementation, testing, and documentation. Assign network integration projects and deployments and ensure solutions are delivered to meet business requirements. Analyze and implement cloud network solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and metrics. (30%) Maintain emerging cloud, on-prem, and network security technologies and trends to ensure technical knowledge and business acumen to optimize business strategy. Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced team members and performance evaluations, career development feedback as necessary. (20%) Design and development of network assessment, design, connectivity, and process for connecting to various network environments (cloud & on-prem). Provide consulting, guidance and recommendations to senior leadership. Conduct technical discovery sessions with vendors and customers. Oversee and coordinate business projects, planning, maintenance, and network connectivity for one or more major Business Units. Participate in the design, configuration, and deployment of new networks (cloud & on-prem) and assist with the migration of existing applications to new hosting platforms. Provide advanced network analysis, design, consultation with leadership, project teams and end users to identify network runtime requirements and perform feasibility analysis on potential changes related to security and network architecture. (10%) Design network components of cloud architecture for mission-critical applications and select advanced tools. Consistently ensures high quality work within Cloud Network Architecture and provide support for other projects to review their work. Serve as a SME regarding network design and security, architecture, integration and defines complex technology-based business solutions. Demonstrates significant knowledge of assigned network characteristics relating to the design, performance tuning and estimating. Consistently and accurately estimates scope and complexity of cloud network design components, code, and modifications for mission-critical tasks. (10%) Job Scope : Position interacts with all levels of employees, including executives, vendors, involved in the cloud network design, connectivity, maintenance, review, approval, testing and communication of business plans and cloud connectivity plans. Monitors and manages a basic cloud-based computing framework. Ensures that systems can meet demanding security and up-time requirements. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering Cloud Infrastructure results without requiring support and instruction from others. Designs Cloud Architectures to support multiple major applications. Reviews architecture to identify strengths and weaknesses. Leads the analysis, architecture, and pattern development for new cloud services and emerging cloud technologies. Partners with internal stakeholders to provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure cloud solutions and related architectures adhere to industry best practices while delivering business outcomes. Participates in design efforts and is sought by others for advice and assistance. Creates design guides and documentation for use in development activities. Recognizes potential inconsistencies between application requirements and actual architecture. Assists with the installation and implementation of configuration management tools. Manages changes made to hardware, software, firmware, documentation, test, test fixtures and test documentation of an automated information system throughout the development and operational life of a system or network. Participates in the development of the company's configuration management plan. Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in challenging and complex situations. Often takes a lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to achieve results. Sets clear and challenging goals and pursues them with passion and vigor. Can make informed decisions on monitoring settings such as sample size, level of criticality, and some self-healing opportunities. Works under minimal to no supervision. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline and 8 years relevant experience (each advanced degree or P.E. license reduces OJT requirement by 1 year) in network communications, network planning, cloud computing, disaster / recovery, or 13 years in comparable work experience. Demonstrates mastery of Cloud Infrastructure services in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering services using advanced configuration tools. Ability to leverage alternative perspectives and emerging technologies to deliver creative solutions. Contributes to writing white papers. Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in applying IT best practices and resolving project issues in challenging and complex situations. Advanced Design and troubleshooting of all layers of the OSI model. Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in applying network operations standards and procedures in challenging and complex situations. Expertise in building a network security policy. Is knowledgeable of the security weaknesses in network systems and can suggest compensating controls. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others. Experience as a team leader contributing to the effectiveness of requirements gathering interviewing team by offering suggestions for improvement to questions, procedures, etc. Proficient in PowerShell, Ansible, or other appropriate scripting tool. Able to independently create, modify, and troubleshoot scripts for automation, reporting, and monitoring tasks. Ability to apply solutions against current security requirements and future industry trends. Has coordinated and directed the system testing of a state-of-the-art, cross- departmental, multi-platform system adhering to the guidelines of the business's life cycle methodology. Has presented results to system's users and received acceptance from them in terms of the system's integrity. Has established a track record of conducting effective load and performance testing. Demonstrates a high proficiency for disseminating technical information to users, management, customers and others. Solid understanding of the capabilities of standard monitoring tools. Preferred Qualifications : Network professional certification(s) held for one or more periods, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE), Prisma Certified Cloud Engineer (PCCE), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PANCNSE), or higher certification or equivalent experience. Proven experience in the design, architecture, and lifecycle management of Cisco data center networks. Strong understanding of network protocols : BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, STP, HSRP, VRRP Proficiency with Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASA firewalls, including log analysis and security compliance Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (DNA Center, NDFC, NetFlow, Wireshark). Tier 3 network level support - Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and provide escalation-level support. Ability to independently manage large projects, interact with project and application / service support teams as well as our business customers to determine project needs. Proficiency using Visio for network diagrams and associated documentation. Relevant work experience in the Energy or Industrial sector. Experience operating within a regulated environment to meet requirements and adherence to various regulatory programs such as NERC CIP, SOX, TSA, PCI, NIST, plus maintaining necessary qualifications and access. Proven ability to work closely with peers to develop future improvement plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules. Understand other technologies and service offerings and their impact to the delivery of secure enterprise, real-time and industrial network environments.
