Job Summary :

The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients on the medical-surgical unit. The RN assesses patient health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records. The Med-Surg RN works collaboratively with physicians, healthcare team members, and families to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Perform physical assessments and obtain patient histories.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and coordinate individualized care plans.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Operate and monitor medical equipment safely and effectively.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

    • Qualifications :

  • Education : Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Licensure : Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
  • Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required (or must be obtained within specified timeframe).
  • Experience : 1–2 years of acute care or medical-surgical nursing experience.
