Tekberry is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to join our client, Stanford University - one of the world's leading research and academic institutions. This role supports University IT (UIT), an 800-person technology organization delivering more than 100 services across Stanford. The Communications Specialist will develop strategic, user-focused communications to support technology initiatives, service adoption, and organizational change.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute communications strategies supporting IT services, system changes, and project initiatives.
Create content across digital channels - including website, email campaigns, newsletters, internal messaging, and branded assets.
Produce clear, engaging technical and user-focused documentation, including FAQs, help guides, job aids, onboarding toolkits, and self-service materials.
Ensure messaging aligns with Stanford brand standards and accessibility requirements.
Support change management communications to increase awareness, adoption, and user readiness.
Write, review, edit, and proofread content developed by internal stakeholders and contractors.
Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, service owners, and communications teams.
Track and manage communication workflows, deadlines, ticket requests, and project deliverables.
Recommend improvements to message strategy, content delivery, and user experience.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of communications experience , or equivalent.
Strong writing, editing, storytelling, content strategy, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
Experience executing multichannel communications campaigns.
High emotional intelligence, professional judgment, adaptability, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly messaging.
Preferred Skills
Communications experience within IT, technology, higher education , or research environments.
Experience with Drupal , web content publishing, HTML / CSS, or CMS platforms.
Familiarity with digital accessibility, inclusive writing, and AP Style.
Graphic design or visual communications experience (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
Experience with collaboration or productivity tools (Slack, Trello, AirTable, Google Workspace).
Knowledge of change management methodologies and communication frameworks.
Work Environment
Remote or hybrid - non-local candidates welcome.
Must be available during core CA business hours.
Standard office, computer-based work environment requiring strong attention to detail.
