Sr. Research Assistant - Pittsburgh, PA

Housing mobility programs are designed to help families move from high poverty neighborhoods into lower poverty, better resourced ones. The MOVED (Mobility Opportunity Vouchers to Eliminate Diabetes and Obesity) Study is designed to test whether helping families move changes adult and child health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Department of Health Policy & Management is seeking a Sr. Research Assistant - Pittsburgh, PA who will assist with tasks on the MOVED Study.

Based in Pittsburgh, the Sr. Research Assistants work under the general direction of a faculty researcher or senior research staff and independently conduct a variety of operational and technical activities key to the conduct of and direction of the research.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop data collection tools based on understanding of underlying study design.
• Participate in developing standard operating procedures for one or more studies.
• Design and set up standard operating procedures.
• Oversee data collection.
• Analyze data under general oversight and make data-driven recommendations.
• Oversee day-to-day activities and provide training for new staff on study.
• Conduct literature searches to pull background material and identify information relevant and applicable to research interest.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Education and Experience Equivalency

If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines : JHU Equivalency Formula : 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
