Operating Room Surgical Technologist

Location

Portland, Maine

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM, with a preference for 48 guaranteed hours per week.

Job Description

The Operating Room Surgical Technologist is responsible for providing support during surgical procedures, including preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons, and ensuring the quality and safety of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the operating room and sterile instruments.
  • Assist the surgical team during operations.
  • Ensure patient safety and uphold infection control protocols.
  • Handle surgical instruments and supplies with care.
  • Communicate effectively with team members for smooth operations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an operating room setting.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
  • Experience with Level 1 trauma preferred, with specialties in General, GU / GYN, Ortho trauma, Ortho joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, and Endovascular.
