Job Summary :

The Java Production Support Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and maintaining Java-based applications in a live production environment. The role involves quick issue resolution, debugging, performance tuning, and working closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless application functionality.

Key Responsibilities :

Monitor production environments and ensure high availability of Java applications.

Respond to incidents, outages, and support requests in a timely manner.

Debug and resolve application issues, including core Java, application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat), and associated middleware.

Coordinate with DevOps teams for deployments, patching, and configuration changes.

Analyze logs and system metrics to identify performance bottlenecks or potential issues.

Maintain documentation of issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.

Participate in on-call rotation for production support.

Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot code-related defects.

Apply Agile methodology principles in managing tasks, tickets, and workflows.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and suggest preventive measures.

Required Skills :

Strong experience in Core Java (multithreading, collections, exception handling, OOP concepts).

Familiarity with DevOps monitoring tools (Nagios, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, or similar).

Understanding of application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat) and deployment processes.

Experience in Agile / Scrum environment and supporting CI / CD pipelines.

Knowledge of databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) and ability to write queries for debugging.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills under pressure.

Strong communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
