# beds : 12 L & D and 6 triage beds

Ratios :  (2 : 1) - MUST BE COMFORTABLE TAKING 2 PATIENTS!! -

Certs : BLS & ACLS (MUST BE THROUGH AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), & AWHONN-Advanced -

Types of patients : High risk patients, some multiple births (up to triplets usually), run insulin gtts, run mag drips; for C-section will circulate and recover; no other surgeries on unit unless tubal or emergent hyster needed; no elective abortions; will recover babies (skin to skin) after delivery; have techs that help as well; make sure the nurses are true L&D as their Post-partum nurses are separate need C-section experience; must be strong L&D!

Must be used to a fast, busy unit! Deliver over 300 per month!
