Lead the system behind the product
At HYCO Alabama, we’re scaling smart, safe, and lean. As our Lean Production Systems Engineering Manager, you’ll own the methods, standards, and improvements that turn concepts into repeatable, cost-effective manufacturing.
What you’ll own
- Process architecture : Create and optimize manufacturing processes that elevate efficiency, sustainability, and profitability.
- Team leadership : Guide a manufacturing engineering team to execute projects with clarity, urgency, and discipline.
- Standards & procedures : Implement operating procedures and work standards to stabilize and improve production.
- Lean cell design : Build and refine lean cells using proven systems, simulations, and data insights.
- Cost modeling : Estimate and monitor production costs, effectiveness, and efficiency metrics.
- Asset reliability : Direct maintenance, repair, and replacement plans for production and facility equipment.
- Quality & throughput : Drive strategies that improve yield, reduce scrap, and increase productivity.
- Launch readiness : Coordinate with design and manufacturing teams on product introductions and ramp-up plans.
- Compliance : Enforce industry safety and design standards and regulatory requirements.
- Financial stewardship : Develop budgets and control operating expenses within plan.
- Technology adoption : Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and systems.
- Executive reporting : Prepare and deliver performance reports to senior leadership.
- Continuous improvement : Identify constraints and implement measurable process enhancements.
- Safety leadership : Ensure safety procedures are followed—always.
Must-have qualifications
Comprehensive manufacturing process and systems expertise; strong command of modern production technology.Proven people-leadership skills that cultivate collaboration and growth.Resource and budget management proficiency with broad manufacturing systems knowledge.End-to-end project management—concept through completion, on time and on budget.Structured problem-solving and root-cause capability with sustainable solutions.Excellent communication skills for operators, cross-functional peers, and executives.Strategic planning and decision-making to set goals and anticipate future needs.Financial analysis skills for budgeting and ROI-driven choices.Expertise in standards, safety regulations, and quality control practices.Technical fluency with AutoCAD or Visio and related manufacturing software.Tooling experience that reduces machine cycle time while holding quality targets.Ability to interface comfortably from the shop floor to the board room.Education & experience
Bachelor’s in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.5+ years in manufacturing engineering, including 2+ years in project leadership, people management, and strategic planning.Hands-on Lean experience : value stream mapping, standard work, and time studies to quantify improvements.Competence in plant layout development for streamlined material flow.Deadline-driven with strong organization and planning capability.Familiarity with drawing systems (AutoCAD or Visio), CAD software, and data analysis tools.Current knowledge of best practices and industry standards.Demonstrated leadership and project management strength.Exceptional problem-solving and sound decision-making.Clear communicator across all organizational levels.Detail-oriented and adept at multitasking.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Tools & proficiencies
