We are currently seeking a Behavior Support Specialist to enhance our award-winning Special Education team. This position offers a starting rate of $22 - $28 per hour based on experience, along with a generous $2,500 sign-on bonus!

As a Behavior Support Specialist , your role will involve :
- Implementing effective interventions to foster positive academic and behavioral outcomes for students in Grades 3-12 .
- Reinforcing positive behaviors and redirecting negative ones, serving as a role model for staff and students alike.
- Maintaining detailed records related to behavioral strategies and intervention plans.
- Monitoring student progress through data collection and collaboration with IEP teams.
- Providing guidance to classroom staff on behavior management techniques and individual student needs.
- Applying principles of applied behavior analysis to support student learning.
- Conducting behavioral observations and assessments to develop individualized plans.
- Assisting with classroom management and supporting teachers during instructional activities.
- Responding promptly to crisis situations, employing de-escalation techniques, and prioritizing safety in the classroom.
- Documenting behavioral incidents and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Participating in team meetings and professional development to stay current in behavioral principles.
- Assisting with student supervision during various school-related activities.
- Traveling among multiple site locations to provide support as needed.
- Taking on additional duties as assigned to enhance program effectiveness.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.Current or in-process registration as a Behavior Technician is preferred.Experience working with children, particularly in special education settings.Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergencies and make quick decisions.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of technology and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.ChanceLight Education is the leading provider of alternative and special education programs.
